macOS shows a security warning the first time, because Skimrr is not code-signed there yet. On Windows the Store build is signed and shows nothing; only the direct installer warns. Why does my computer warn me?

Getting past the warning

Skimrr is not code-signed yet: that is a certificate we have not bought, not something found in the app. Both systems warn you once, and then never again.

    Open the app once

    Drag Skimrr into Applications, then double-click it. macOS refuses and offers only Done. That refusal is the step, not a failure.

    Open System Settings, Privacy & Security

    Scroll down to the Security section. A line about Skimrr appeared there when the app was blocked.

    Click Open Anyway, then confirm

    Your password or Touch ID, once. Skimrr opens now and every time after that.
