Installing Skimrr
Three minutes, and one security warning we would rather explain before you meet it.
1. Open the file you downloaded
On macOS, open the .dmg and drag Skimrr into your Applications folder.
On Windows, put skimrr.exe wherever you like and double-click it. There is no installer: the whole app is that one file.
2. Expect a security warning, and get past it
Skimrr is not code-signed yet, so both systems will warn you the first time. This is about a certificate we have not bought, not about anything found in the app.
On macOS: if the app refuses to open, go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway next to Skimrr. You only do this once.
On Windows: SmartScreen shows a blue panel. Click More info, then Run anyway. Also once.
3. Activate when you first move photos
Scanning a folder and reviewing the results is free, so start there and look at your own duplicates first.
When you move photos to the trash for the first time, Skimrr asks for the licence key from your purchase email. Paste it and you are done: after that the app works offline.
If something goes wrong
Write to [email protected] and we answer every message. If Skimrr is not what you hoped, the refund is yours for 14 days, no questions.
